God of War Ragnarök picks up after the events of the previous game, with Fimbulwinter (a harsh, long winter) looming and the prophecy of Ragnarök (the destruction of the Norse world) approaching. Kratos and his son Atreus must embark on a perilous journey across the Norse realms to seek answers and forge alliances in a desperate attempt to avert disaster.
The game continues the action-adventure style of the previous title, with Kratos wielding his powerful Leviathan Axe and Blades of Chaos in brutal combat encounters against mythological creatures and Norse gods. Players will also control Atreus in certain situations, utilizing his archery skills and unique abilities.
